The sustainable online advent calendar from the Blue Angel ecolabel not only presents a diverse range of alternative environmentally friendly products but also inspires the around 250,000 participants to make more environmentally conscious choices when buying presents. Every door reveals a different product certified with the Blue Angel ecolabel. Your product could be one of them this year!

The motto of the UBA is “for people and the environment”. As Germany’s main environmental protection agency, the UBA is dedicated to maintaining a healthy environment in which people are protected against harmful environmental effects to the greatest extent possible.

The Environmental Label Jury agreed on the criteria for two new ecolabels at its summer meeting:

New ecolabel for events

The new Blue Angel ecolabel for events offers event organisations the opportunity to advertise their events such as conferences and trade fairs or cultural events such as concerts and theatre festivals with the ecolabel if they comply with high environmental and sustainability standards.

“For us, it is important to create an initial spark in the market when it comes to looking at environmental and health risks,” explains ELAPRO managing director Mario Saalmann and: “As a manufacturer, we can tell our customers a lot of things, but it is much more important to convey transparency, respectability and objectivity with an ecolabel that they know and understand.” ELAPRO has been continuing the over 80-year tradition of Wolfener Lackfabrik at its production site under its new name since 2014.

Around 50,000 visitors strolled along the capital’s Straße des 17. Juni in early summer temperatures and bright sunshine on the last weekend of April. Federal Minister for the Environment Steffi Lemke visited the stand of the German federal government’s ecolabel in the morning. By her side: author, activist and “greenfluencer” Domitila Barros, who accompanied this year’s Environmental Festival as a patron.
