Mattresses can cause environmental pollution across the entire life cycle of the product. Therefore, the requirements for the award of the environmental label focus not only on the materials used in the manufacturing process but also on the period of use of the products and their subsequent disposal. The individual materials must not contain any substances harmful to health. The use of flame retardants, perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals and biocide finishing is generally prohibited.
