New proposals

New proposals can be submitted by anybody to the German Environment Agency. The proposal should include clear and comprehensively substantiated reasons for how the product or service differentiates itself in terms of its environmental characteristics from other products/services with the same intended use (competing products).

Further information on the required content can be found in the ‘Information sheet on submitting new proposals for the Blue Angel’.

Please understand that we are still working on various new products and services, so that we can only review and take up a few new proposals. Exceptions are possible if products and services are used in a wide range of applications, they have a high potential for environmental relief and they fit in with the existing Blue Angel product portfolio or key areas of work of the Federal Environment Agency. We will be pleased to advise you in advance by telephone.

Pending investigative orders

In some product categories, the Environmental Label Jury has already issued investigative orders to the German Environment Agency. The German Environment Agency develops award criteria for these product categories. The number of investigative orders that can be issued is not defined. This is at the discretion of the Environmental Label Jury.

The investigative orders have been collected together in the following overview (Status: June 25):

Building sector / Municipality

  • Permanently installed play equipment in the outdoor area

Consumer products

  • Filaments for 3D printing
  • Craft glue
