Environmentally Friendly Car Sharing (DE-UZ 100)

Environmentally friendly mobility thanks to car sharing!
Even those who are mainly mobile by bus, train, bicycle or on foot need a car from time to time: for example, for trips to places that are not (yet) connected to public transport, for trips outside bus and train operating hours, or to transport bulky or heavy goods. Having to buy and own a car for this would not only be an unnecessary financial investment, but would also use up a disproportionate amount of natural resources and pollute the environment. Car sharing offers the necessary car mobility for everyone and helps to use resources efficiently and protect the environment.
Particularly environmentally friendly car sharing services are awarded the “Blue Angel” DE-UZ 100, because the vehicles in these car sharing fleets must meet the strictest emission requirements, e.g. with regard to nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions. In addition, the vehicles must demonstrate standard carbon dioxide emissions that are among the 50% best of the vehicle models available on the market. Furthermore, awarded offers must have a minimum proportion of purely electric vehicles in their fleet, whereby this quota is also increased annually and the vehicles must be charged with electricity from renewable sources. Finally, the fleets of car sharing offers with the “Blue Angel” must predominantly contain small and medium-sized vehicles so that the transportation of usually only a few people or goods can be carried out as energy- and resource-efficiently as possible.
