LIGNOPRO® 851 CLT-Varnish UV

LIGNOPRO® 851 CLT-Varnish UV is a mid-layer varnish based on ultra-fine pure acrylate. The product reduces the discolouration (darkening) of the wood caused by UV light. This is particularly advantageous when using very light shades of white or the natural and colourless variants indoors. Compatible with all commercially available types of glue. The coating material has a mild odour, forms a film, is block-resistant and is easy to apply. A long open time enables a uniform colour surface to be achieved even on large-format sanded cross laminated timber components. The product forms a colourless or transparent, semi-matt film with medium fullness through which the grain of the wood remains visible. In the coloured version, light-resistant pigments provide additional UV protection, which prevents the wood from greying due to lignin degradation. The glaze regulates moisture by protecting the wood from penetrating water and at the same time leaving it open to diffusion. The surface created after just one coat protects the cross laminated timber from soiling during the period of use of the building, which can be easily wiped off without penetrating the wood. Depending on the desired surface, a further coat can be applied (with or without intermediate sanding).
