Green Metrics Tool

The Green Metrics Tool is an open-source software tool-chain that enables developers and organizations to understand and reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions of their software.

It features:

• Automated and customizable software measurement process in line with the requirements for the Blue Angel for Resource and Energy-Efficient Software Products (UZ-215)
• Measurement and calculation of typical performance metrics but also energy consumption and carbon emission for various platforms and architectures.
• Uses Docker container architecture to orchestrate software applications
• Integrated dashboard with chart and metrics display
• Statistical significance tests for changes in energy consumption and carbon emissions
• Integrated algorithmic optimizations to help reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions of software
• Modular and extensible architecture of components for measuring, displaying, and evaluating data
