Showering in a Climate-Friendly Way
In Germany, the average amount of water used per person per day for personal hygiene is 44 litres which is approximately one third of the total water use. Since the water used for personal hygiene is usually hot, lower consumption will also result in lower energy consumption as well as in lower climate-harming greenhouse gas emissions. That is why shower heads with a restricted maximum flow rate of 6 to 9 litres per minute independent of the pressure are recommended in particular. They can achieve savings of 40 percent and more compared with customary products!
