About the Blue Angel
As the German government’s eco-label, the Blue Angel has been providing guidance for sustainable purchasing for more than 40 years. Independent and credible, it sets demanding standards for environmentally friendly products and services.
The Blue Angel guarantees that certified products and services meet high environmental, health and functional requirements. The assessment must always consider the entire life cycle. Criteria that must be met by products and services certified with the Blue Angel are developed for each product group. The German Environment Agency reviews the criteria every three to four years in order to reflect technical developments. This ensures that companies are continually challenged to make their products more environmentally friendly.
