Municipal vehicles UZ59a
Pollutants and noise emissions caused by municipal vehicles need to be reduced, especially in conurbations, city centres and areas worthy of protection.
The operating noise can be very disruptive in residential areas and quiet areas. In order to protect residents, it is important for municipalities to operate low-noise vehicles. Except for the obligation to label the noise emission levels, there are currently no legal requirements for the reduction of noise on municipal vehicles. Therefore, the Blue Angel will set limits for the permissible sound pressure levels for street sweepers and refuse collection vehicles.
To reduce air pollutants, there are strict requirements for exhaust and particulate emissions. The requirements conform to the legal regulations for reducing exhaust emissions and require the use of highly effective systems for exhaust gas treatment.
