International Workshop on 11 November 2014 in Berlin `Environmental Labelling – Challenges and Future Trends on Global Markets´

Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear SafetyAs consumers increasingly pay attention to environmental issues when purchasing day-to-day goods, the number of Ecolabels worldwide has increased accordingly.
Worldwide, there are an estimated 1,000 Ecolabels today. But what about the market penetration of these green products? Consumers are finding it increasingly difficult to find their way through the ‘goods and labels maze’.

How do companies choose to label their eco-friendly products? What challenges arise due to the global markets? And which criteria are important to ensuring that consumers perceive labels as a reliable and credible guide when shopping?

The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) would like to discuss these issues together with Federal Environment Minister Dr. Barbara Hendricks, President of the Federal Environment Agency Maria Krautzberger and with committed companies, NGOs and several labelling programmes.

The participation at the workshop is free of charge. If you have any questions in advance, please contact Janine Braumann (janine.braumann@uba.de) or Susanne Heutling (susanne.heutling@uba.de).
