Owner of the Blue Angel Eco-label

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety is the owner of the Blue Angel eco-label and, hence, bears substantial responsibility for the use of the label as a reliable product information.

The Federal Minister for the Environment establishes the principles for awarding the eco-label and appoints the members of the Environmental Label Jury in consultation with the Laender Ministers for the Environment.

In addition, the Federal Ministry for the Environment acts in an advisory capacity (without a vote) to the bodies of the Environmental label Jury.
